The Colletti ENSEMBLE PRESENTS “MIRRORS”

THE COLLETTI ENSEMBLE is a non-profit group fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas comprised of the principal performers for the music of Ian M.Colletti.  The ensemble was founded in 2024 as a live performance laboratory for his introductory project “MIRRORS”.  Its purpose was to create a musical framework for the unprecedented physical systems of a mixed music ensemble, and meet the demands of his compositions. “MIRRORS is a live musical experience in two parts: one part post classical ensemble, and the other a shadowy parallel of their performance, simultaneously drawn from analog and FM synthesizers. Created entirely by the performers’ hands, without use of laptops or computers, the music of MIRRORS is inspired by the concepts of sacred geometry and parallel projection, which use the movement of light and shadow to illuminate a 4th dimension of spatial experience with stereo graphic projection.

In honoring the ancient hermetic comprehensions of space time, the physical hand of craft within “the net”, and core element of modern string theory. MIRRORS is “As above, so below”.

THE COLLETTI ENSEMBLE, is dedicated to premiering primarily at affordable, all ages venues, both in a performance and accessible educational environment. It’s aim is to invite and engage members of the larger musical community to participate as guest performers in the live synthesizer reinterpreting of the “MIRRORS” project in select performances, and bring opportunities to local gigging musicians.

Colletti’s music in its earlier years including compositions, ensembles, live scoring, synthesis interpretations and handmade “foley” sound objects was performed by himself an with others primarily in the galleries, loft spaces, and museum spaces in NYC in the early 2000’s to 2019, including Eyebeam Gallery, The Performa Biennial, The Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, Movement Research, the Center for Performance Research and his past gallery/ arts venue Vaudeville Park among other.
