Ian M Colletti or “COLLETTI” is a Composer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Performer, Recording Artist and Music Producer with his recording studio based in Silverlake, Los Angeles. He is the sole performer and producer for the full feature Netflix FYC score of the 2020 Emmy Nominated “Circus of Books” produced by Ryan Murphy and directed by Rachel Mason, the Sundance Film Festival Nominee “CHAMP” (2022), and the Palm Springs Festival “The Lizard Laughed”(2022). Ian is founder and resident composer at The Army of One Productions Inc. film music & post audio company.
As a NY native, Ian has been a lifelong musical artist, playing violin in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in Orchestras by 12 years of age, and studied at UNCG and SUNY Purchase Conservatories with a focus in Composition, Classical Performance, Jazz, Flamenco Guitar, Studio Composition, Electronic Music, Experimental Music & Film Scoring. His first film score was awarded best student film of the year while produced by a members of The Residents at the age of 19.
His past NYC “live” film scoring has been included the New Visual Art Performance Biennial “Performa 13” awarded with two honariums, and in the 2012 debut of The Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra as a featured artist including scoring with the use of hand built instruments and unique handmade foley. He has collaborated as live score and music composer with various experimental Film, Dance, Fashion, Performance & TV groups including Movement Research, Avant 16, ESP TV, Eyebeam Gallery, Trans Pecos, his own past arts / music venue of five years “Vaudeville Park”, and has been awarded lasting sponsorships such as New York Foundation for the Arts, Materials for the Arts, and NYSCA New York State. His work as composer, director and musical curator has been featured in Time Out, Brooklyn Rail, The New Yorker, Daily News, Brooklyn Vegan, Village Voice, Impose, Rolling Stone, Variety, Art in America, Art News, Indie Wire, USA Today among other.
His new and upcoming projects go under the alias “COLLETTI” where he is vocalist, bandleader, songwriter and multi instrumentalist. His past bands include “Angriest Pussycat”, “Auto-Matic Vaudeville”, LOST ANIMALS his time spent in “Jandek”, along with numerous collaborations across the underground indie, chamber, new music, electronic, noise, minimalist, dark wave, americana/ folk, visual/ experimental/ noise and gallery scenes.
